About wave rider
Wave Rider here on Liftoff takes the endless-wave runner formula into a smoother, more flow-focused direction. Your craft rides an endless swell, and the goal is sustained momentum - carving down wave faces for speed, launching off crests for air, and threading obstacles that surface in your path.
The feel is fluid carving rather than twitch dodging. Turns have weight, so steering is about setting lines: wide arcs maintain speed, tight turns scrub it. Reading the next wave's shape tells you whether to push for a launch or hold a cruising line through a hazard cluster.
Airtime enables tricks. Launch off a crest and you can spin or flip for combo multipliers, and chaining tricks in one jump stacks the bonus. Style-focused players don't just survive - they push for higher scores by extending air combos.
Obstacles - rocks, mines, sea life - appear on the wave face and in the air during jumps. Surface hazards need steering; airborne hazards need launch trajectory management. Distance plus trick score combine into the total.

How to Play
Steer with arrow keys or A/D. Your craft pitches with the waves, so inputs are trim adjustments rather than instant direction changes.
Ride down wave faces to build speed. Descending accelerates you; climbing the next wave slows - manage the rhythm for flow.
Launch off crests for airtime. Air enables tricks and clears surface obstacles that would be fatal at sea level.
Dodge hazards by steering on the surface or managing launch trajectory in the air. Rocks and mines appear in both zones.

Pro Tips
Read the wave ahead. The next swell's shape determines your line - reacting to the current wave is too late to set up a clean carve or launch.
Chain tricks during airtime. Combo multipliers stack, so a launch into multiple tricks outscores a single trick per jump.
Don't launch blind. Check the landing zone before a big air - blind jumps risk collision with airborne obstacles.
Cruise the middle face when not tricking. The edges cluster hazards; the center is the safest cruising line.
